In a world grappling with climate change, resource scarcity, and socioeconomic challenges, the expectation for business enterprises extends beyond shareholder value creation. Governments, financial institutions, and stakeholder groups now envision businesses as social change agents addressing these critical issues.
The United Nations, in its 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, underscores the pivotal role of human resources in fostering inclusive and sustainable growth. Similarly, the International Labour Organization (ILO), within the same agenda, champions the concept of decent work, which integrates economic, social, and environmental objectives. This approach ensures all individuals enjoy dignity, equality, and fairness in their professional environments. Today, organizations are called upon to ensure fair income, workplace security, social protection for families, and opportunities for personal and social advancement for their employees.
Amidst these socioeconomic and ecological upheavals, corporate entities are increasingly integrating sustainable practices into their strategies, promoting ethical governance, advancing social equity, and enhancing the holistic wellbeing of their workforce.
This conclave focuses on the theme "HR for Greater Good," highlights the vital role of HR policies and practices in achieving enhanced environmental performance, social goals, high-performance work cultures, and ethical standards within organizations.
The conclave provides a platform for Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) to share their transformative experiences through collaborative dialogues and insightful sessions. Participants will discuss their best HR practices and their contributions towards the greater good, fostering a spirit of mutual learning among the attending organizations. Sessions featuring esteemed academicians, industry veterans, CPSE leaders, policymakers, and renowned keynote speakers will enrich the learning experience.
The “HR for the Greater Good” theme urges organizations to transcend traditional approaches and adopt a quadruple bottom-line perspective—people, planet, profit, and policy. This modern HR approach equips public sector enterprises to become resilient, responsible, and sustainable, making a lasting impact on the world.
"HR for Greater Good," refers to the HR policies that empower organizations to fulfill their sustainability, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) commitments. These policies aim at creating shared value and net positive socioeconomic and ecological outcomes for all stakeholders.
